The Atlantic Coast
One of my favourite ways to get into the ocean, starting from Berlin, is to drive through france and along the atlantic coast of Spain until I run out of time or money. For me this is the ultimate feeling of freedom, to sit behind the wheel and see where the surf conditions take me.
I’ve traveled the Atlantic Coast for 4 months in two trips. In this Surftravelguide I will name a couple surf spots and travelling tips that I learned last year and are proving incredibly helpful to me. This guide is especially meant for surfers who are exploring the van life in France and Spain. I have not listed all the spots, that I have visited, only the ones I loved or the ones that I didn’t like that much. I am always interested to hear of new spots, so if you have got them, please let me know here.
Practical Tips
Finding spots to sleep in your car, especially for free, can get very complicated. I use the App Park4Night, which gets updated by the community and shows you all kinds of different spots in europe.
By clicking on the headers of the places I’m describing the link will direct you to google maps for a more handy on the road navigation. To see a summary of the spots, there is also a Google Maps map curated by me, containing all the spots.
